Anna from Morsels and Musings has 3 great recipes with kaffir lime leaves and zest, but if you can’t find fresh leaves you can use kaffir lime essential oil instead.
How do you do it?
The sweet syrup recipe uses the kaffir lime fruit’s zest, but it also works wonderfully with our oil. Simply make a sugar syrup and add the oil after it’s cooled down.
For the second recipe, a fragrant turmeric rice (Nasi Kuning), cook the rice with the coconut milk and the rest of the spices, and when it’s ready, mix 2-3 drops of oil with 2 spoons of coconut milk and mix well with the rice.
For the roasted eggplant salad (Sambal Tuwung), mix 2 drops of essential oil with the kecap manis before mixing it with the salad.
